【摘要】:Thistestmethodisusedinthelaboratorymixdesignofbituminousmixtures.Specimensarepreparedinaccordancewiththemethodandtestedformaximumloadandflow.Densityandvoidspropertiesmayalsobedeterminedonspecimenspreparedinaccordancewiththemethod.Thetestingsectionofthismethodcanalsobeusedtoobtainmaximumloadandflowforbituminouspavingspecimenscoredfrompavementsorpreparedbyothermethods.Theseresultsmaydifferfromvaluesobtainedonspecimenspreparedbythistestmethod.1.1ThistestmethodcoversthemeasurementoftheresistancetoplasticflowofcylindricalspecimensofbituminouspavingmixtureloadedonthelateralsurfacebymeansoftheMarshallapparatus.Thistestmethodisforusewithmixturescontainingasphaltcementandaggregateupto1x00BD;in.(37.5mm)nominalmaximumsize.1.2Thevaluesstatedininch-poundunitsaretoberegardedasstandardexceptforreferencetosievesizesandsizeofaggregateasmeasuredbytestingsievesinwhichSIunitsarestandardaccordingtoSpecificationE11.ThevaluesgiveninparenthesesaremathematicalconversionstoSIunitsthatareprovidedforinformationonlyandarenotconsideredstandard.1.3Thisstandarddoesnotpurporttoaddressallofthesafetyconcerns,ifany,associatedwithitsuse.Itistheresponsibilityoftheuserofthisstandardtoestablishappropriatesafetyandhealthpracticesanddeterminetheapplicabilityofregulatorylimitationspriortouse.
